A Media Asset Management (MAM) system allows an easy and professional handling of digital objects in a central repository. These could be images, graphics, technical blueprints, data sheets or video and audio data. Since every object represents a certain value, they are also called “Assets”.

The whole purpose of a MAM-System is to provide the stored assets to all authorized persons, the easiest way possible. This includes preventing any error sources like duplicates of different versions or providing of outdated versions. The Pixelboxx is accessed via the Internet with a common web browser. This allows to access and to manage media from all over the world.

The Access to single objects and areas is managed via sophisticated access rights for different user and user groups. The idea is, to grant access to the assets just for the persons allowed to edit and access these. The bigger a company is and the bigger the number of the user groups is, the more important this aspect becomes.

The key to an easy way to find media data is Meta-Data. This describes information about the file itself: Title and search term, origin (source, author, date, rights…), image properties (size, resolution, color space, color profile, format….).

 

The maintenance of the search terms, also known as „Indexing“, has the highest priority for the availability of media assets. These are only then available if you can find them fast and easy.
In the end, the found media can be accessed fast and easy so it can be used for different applications. For this purpose there are different features for creating collections and for downloading data available.
